The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, along with organizations and volunteers, are hosting a dozen Family Fishing Events across the state this weekend.
Event organizers provide tackle and assistance to help guests. They are great places to learn some basic techniques people can use to plan their own outings.
The events coincide with the state’s traditional Free Fishing Weekend, which runs both Saturday and Sunday (June 1 and 2). On those two days, people can go fishing or shellfishing without the usual licenses or tags, but they still must follow other rules.
You’ll find more information about Family Fishing Events here.
